Remarks

Dates, times and timestamps written from .NET values are truncated towards negative infinity to the logical type's precision (a timestamp-millis drops sub-millisecond ticks), as the Java implementation does. Values read that do not fit the .NET type raise AvroDataException.

Decimals are exact: writing a value with more fractional digits than the schema's scale, or more digits than its precision, raises AvroException instead of rounding.

DaysFromDate(DateTime)

Converts a date to a date (days since the Unix epoch); the time of day is ignored.

ReadDecimalBytes(ref AvroReader, int)

Reads a decimal on bytes: a two's-complement big-endian unscaled integer.

Reads a decimal on fixed: a two's-complement big-endian unscaled integer of the fixed size.

ReadUuidFixed(ref AvroReader)

Reads a uuid on fixed(16): the 16 bytes in RFC 4122 (big-endian) order.

ReadUuidString(ref AvroReader)

Reads a uuid on string (the 36-character hyphenated form).
